Based on the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Article 19, "Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive, and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers."

It is an individual human right by its nature and a civil, social, and cultural right. This right guarantees you to be an effective member of the community. This right includes freedom of expression in public affairs.

And the most important thing about freedom of opinion and expression is that it is the basic source of many freedoms and a basic factor for the exercise of political rights. It helps you understand your social environment and the wider world by sharing ideas and information freely with others. When you express your opinion freely, you feel safe and respected.

Furthermore, freedom of opinion and expression is key to critical thinking.
