PEN Malta has issued a sharp warning over the deteriorating situation in Venezuela. The group explicitly rejects any foreign military intervention or "colonialist aggression".

Highlighting the severe dangers facing writers and journalists. The organization strongly condemned the government of Nicolás Maduro, accusing it of using repression and censorship to silence critical voices and harm society.
While PEN Malta stands firmly against authoritarian rule, it also issued a clear warning to the international community.
This statement comes at a moment of unprecedented global tension following Operation Absolute Resolve, the recent U.S. military raid ordered by President Trump that resulted in the abduction of Nicolás Maduro from Caracas.
The group explicitly rejects any foreign military intervention or "colonialist aggression." They argue that human rights abuses must not be used as an excuse for external powers to violate Venezuela’s national sovereignty or risk civilian lives.
Ultimately, PEN Malta is calling for a peaceful, non-violent resolution and believes the crisis can only be solved through dialogue led by Venezuelans themselves.
