A new online course for more accurate and non-discriminatory information.
In an increasingly polarized media landscape, particularly around migration issues, a European initiative is offering practical resources to information professionals. Since March 25, 2026, a fully free educational platform has been open to the general public.

A collective project to reinvent media coverage Behind this project is a consortium of five
organizations from different European countries: Lunaria, which coordinates it, alongside Carta di Roma, the African Media Association Malta, Antigone, and the Spanish fact-checking network Maldita.es. Together, they have developed the MILD ( More Correct Information Less Discrimination) project, whose ambition is to equip media professionals and civil society actors with strong skills to identify and counter misinformation circulating about migrant populations and minorities.
For whom ? Why ?

The training is aimed at everyone who, directly or indirectly, contributes to shaping public and digital content creators. The stakes are high: the goal is to rethink how certain communities are represented in the media space, by avoiding bias, hasty generalizations, opinion: experienced reporters, recent journalism graduates, activists, as well as influencers and stigmatizing portrayals.
Five chapters to deconstruct and rebuild.

The learning pathway is structured around five major themes, addressed in a progressive and interactive way. Learners are first invited to become aware of the mechanisms of discriminatory language, before taking a closer look at recurring narrative patterns surrounding migration. An entire chapter is devoted to the power—and the risks—of images, which are often vehicles for stereotypes.
The course then explores the foundations of critical thinking in relation to the media, before concluding on a constructive note: how to develop alternative narratives and foster cooperative dynamics among information actors.
Accessible anywhere, anytime.
Another key strength of this initiative is that it sets no barriers to entry. The training is entirely free, available in Italian, English, Spanish, and Greek, and can be accessed at any time. Each participant progresses at their own pace, without any scheduling constraints.
