Maltese culture part.3

Do you know that ?

There are approximately 365 churches even if less people are church goers.

Catholicism is rooted in the Maltese culture, it can be seen on every houses, represented by the holy icones in front of many houses. A large number of houses in fact are named after Catholic Saints. Christianity can be seen across the landscape, and also mainly during religious festivities. The processions are an important social event that brings all the country together. They are usually celebrated by fireworks that can be heard from dawn to evening.

Saint Paul marks deeply the Maltese religious history. When he arrived in the island on 60 A.D, he performed several miracles and convert the governor to Christianism, and all the people followed.

Maltese Churches are considered to be great works of art from inside as much as the outside.
