The Pontiff is visiting the island of Malta in April 2 and 3, 2022. He will take the opportunity to speak with asylum seekers at the Peace Lab, a reception center for migrants managed by the Church.

The morning of Saturday, April 2, will be dedicated to meeting with the country's officials, as well as with members of the Diplomatic Corps. The Holy Father will then travel to the island of Gozo where he will say Mass in the Ta' Pinu Basilica of Gozo, a place of worship in Malta that attracts many visitors because of its history.

On Sunday, April 3, the Pope will visit the Apostolic Nuncio in Rabat. He will then make a stop at the Basilica of St. Paul in the same city.

On Sunday afternoon, he will visit the Peace Lab, a reception center for asylum seekers located in Hal-Far.

The poor conditions in which asylum seekers live on the island of Malta regularly make the headlines, but without any impact on the authorities.

Will Pope Francis be able to bring some comfort to people who are literally and figuratively suffering so much violence?
