How to support orphans in Somalia: a young somali in Malta calls for action: VIDEO

Alexane Wiertz

Somalia has been a war-torn zone for many years now. Across the globe,  Somalis usually make the larger numbers of asylum seekers, as they are obliged to run away to seek safety.

But there are those who remain at home, either because they choose to stay, or they have no means to escape. Whatever their reason to remain, they usually need external support, and there are people who just try to do that, to provide support to those who have been left behind.

The guest for this podcast is Mohamed Jaylami Abdule, a young man from Somalia who has found refuge in Malta 15 years ago. While he is safe in Europe, he doesn't forget those who were left in a Somalia where children continue to die from bullets and from hunger.

He visited the studio of African Media to call for action.
